Saratoga / Spirit / Acclaim in the Movies
These models are really rare birds. Everyone, who has got one, jumps up with joy in case
there is one on the TV or in a movie. Here are the movies I have found them in.
"Kindergarten Cop" (USA 1990, 111 Minutes)
starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Pamela Reed, directed by Ivan Reitman
A silver car with grey interieur driven by Arnie, looks like a 4-cylinder model,
because of wheelcaps and the front grille.
First apperance after about 20 Minutes. Nice driving scenes.
Later a black one is parking in front of the Appartment.
"Sleepless in Seattle" (USA 1993, 105 Minutes)
starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, directed by Nora Ephron
A red one with interior, steering-wheel and seatbelts all in red. Chrome grille.
Obviously a 4-cylinder, because of the wheelcaps and the missing V6-sign on the sides.
First appearing after 1 hour and 4 minutes, total scenes about a minute.
Lady rented one for first meeting. Views from front and sides, some while driving.
You know some more ? Well then - let me know.

Picture taken Monday, 18.11.1996 on the
Autobahn A7 between
Soltau and Bispingen
Car: 1989 Chrysler Saratoga 3.0 LE, Driver: Peter himself
This picture tells a lot:
- The car is rather old - 292.204 km (app. 180.000 miles) on the counter
- The car is rather fast - runs at 200 km/h (over 120 mph)
- The german Autobahn is an ideal testing-ground for high speed driving
- The driver is totally mad - because he needs both hands for the camera
Any comment is welcome.
